Winnie needs to be needed. She’s a sweet, friendly Draft Cross and has been a great pal for our “only” horse, but now a new horse is coming and three’s a crowd in my 2 stall barn. So she is available for adoption as a companion horse. Winnie’s 20 and we’ve had her for about 5 years, during which time she’s been totally healthy and sound and needed no extra “maintenance”. She is NOT trained to ride and not to be used as a broodmare.... (read more)
So let’s see - she’s not crazy about vets, but has learned to stand “untethered” for the farrier as long as she has food in front of her. She likes an “open” lifestyle with free access to stall and paddock or field. Would probably be happy with a field and shelter, but not locked in a stall.
My main concern is Winnie's well-being, so price is negotiable for a great home.
