Sherlock is the first foal from our junior sire, Benchmark. His dam, Shine, is an unshown daughter of our farm matriarch and multi-National champion riding mare, Tradewinds Sizzle and one of our best producers who, without fail, will have one of the more anticipated foals each season.

With this cross we got an elegant, pretty and good minded colt who should make a fantastic partner for many different disciplines. Sherlocks family tends to make incredible family horses who are willing and eager to learn and are quick to catch onto new concepts.... (read more) He is broke to lead and tie, knows age-appropriate body control cues, is good for bathing, feet trimming and has been exposed to many different sights and stimuli. He attended the National Percheron Show, held at the Indiana State Fair and competed in the Sr. colt class last week, placing 6th. He was a solid citizen, handling all the new sights and skills asked of him with class.

We expect Sherlock to mature near the 18hh range and like his dams side of the family, we feel he will likely make an excellent riding partner and could also be a fun pleasure driving partner in the future.
