Hawk is a 10 yo gelding that we have worked with over the past few months. Hawk has some big bones, big round feet, and isn’t too bad to look at, however he is extremely early on in his training for a 10yo. Hawk has had a rough go throughout his life to say the least. He has been labeled as a bad horse, and was nearly euthanized as no one could work with him. He ended up with us luckily through a friend and our goal is to find this boy the right home that values him.... (read more) He is extremely sweet, and will try his heart out. However, hawk can revert to his reactive state when he becomes overwhelmed as one may expect. He’s reacted and been very distrusting of people for obvious reasons through his life so building his confidence and ability to stay relaxed and process new information is very important for him. We have started from scratch with him, teaching him to lead properly, pick you up, not be bothered by the rope, stay with us in ground work while moving fluidly, accept saddling, and has had weight on his back quite a bit now. Hawk has come quite a long way since we’ve been working with him. Hawk is not to the point yet where he is ready to be ridden, but in time will get there. We want to be sure he has all the tools to be successfully in his life. The pricing for hawk is listed accordingly as our top priority is finding him the right home. As his training progresses however, his pricing will reflect this. Great homes that may fit hawk could be horseman who are willing to take time on a project, any therapeutic options that emphasize ground work, companion homes, or just someone looking to improve there Horsemanship that wants to build there own horse. Take a look at hawks brief video to see some of the schooling he’s got so far. He is great with having his feet done and has no issue loading, UTD on teeth, feet, worming, and shots.
