This gentle giant is Arlow. He is a 15.3 hand quarter horse draft cross gelding. This guy wears a size 2 shoe! He’s big boned and beautiful flea bitten gray. Arlow is vet aged at 20 years old but don’t let that fool you, he has been on 25-30 mile trail rides. He is UTD on coggins, vaccines, teeth floating, full vet exam and has 4 new shoes. If there was EVER a BOMB PROOF or KID BROKE horse this is IT!... (read more) The only requirement to riding him is that you are alive and breathing. Absolutely ANYONE can ride him. He has been used in my lesson program and I have had kids that’s never been on a horse ride him. He’s a true baby sitter, husband safe, grandma safe, you name it. Arlow has been used to push cattle, check fences, trail ride and lessons. I have doubled my 3 year old little girl on him on the trail with her holding the reins. If you want something to take you safely down a trail with no spook or foolishness this is him. He doesn’t care to go off and leave the other horses and don’t mind when they leave him. He is not barn or buddy sour in the least. He goes confidently wherever you point him. I’ve had him out in the lake, up and down some of the roughest trails in eastern KY, by barking dogs, heavy equipment and traffic, nothing fazes him. He has the softest trot and canter of any horse I’ve ever rode and carries a beautiful low head set on a loose rein. You can ride him once a day, once a week or once a year he’s the same ol’ boy every time. Tie him up to a trailer, tree, whatever and he’ll stand and take a nap. He will cross anything in his path with ease and takes his time in sticky or rough situations. If the horse in front of him spooks or won’t go on just bring Arlow to the front and he will teach them how to act. He can ride front, middle or bring up the rear it’s all the same to him. There is no fault in him. I could write a book on this horse and still not tell all the good about him. Catch him anywhere in the field or keep him in a stall. He’ll load himself in a trailer and stands for a bath. Arlow will w/t/c with no problem. He is gentle and sweet. He will nicker when he sees you coming.
