Introducing Nova (Soleil Et Lune), a 2021 Buckskin Warmblood filly who has been inspected, branded, and approved with Westfalen. Nova is a Connemara/Thoroughbred cross and is eligible for registration with ACPS (Connemara Pony) and ABRA (American Buckskin). Color-testing by UC Davis is EE/AA.

Her lineage includes Tullymores Ned Devine (CP) as sire and Crimson Clover (TB) as dam. Both full and half siblings have demonstrated excellence in cross country, hunters, jumpers, and dressage.... (read more) Nova exhibits a natural curiosity and possesses the determination to excel as a competitive sport horse.

Nova is a well-handled young horse. She has extensive experience with trailering and enjoys hand walking on trails, tackling obstacles, bridges, and water crossings. Nova will W/T/C on a lunge line or in a round pen, and responds well to verbal cues, including a reliable "whoa." She accepts a saddle without any issues but has not been ridden yet due to her ongoing growth. Currently standing at 15.2 hands high, Nova is expected to mature to 16 hands or more.

Additionally, Nova underwent umbilical surgery to repair a hernia that developed shortly after birth and has fully recovered without lasting effects. While initially cautious around new people, she gradually builds trust and becomes highly loyal.

Nova may feel uncomfortable around dogs and may react defensively if they get too close, though she hasn't had any negative experiences with them. She can be a bit stubborn at times but becomes very cooperative and rewarding to work with once a bond is established.

Nova occasionally displays mouthy behavior but responds well to verbal correction. To manage this, I avoid hand-feeding treats. She understands waiting for her food and will back up when asked. Although she doesn't crib, she may occasionally nibble on trees or fences as she sees fit.

I'm not in a rush to sell this horse; I've owned her since she was a weanling and I'm looking for the right home that can nurture her potential. Currently, she's enjoying pasture life with other mares. Nova has experience pasturing with mares and geldings of various ages, as well as being comfortable in a stall. She shows promise for multiple disciplines including dressage, hunters, and cross country. With her impressive movement, striking beauty, and intelligent demeanor, Nova has the potential to excel in the show ring under the guidance of her future rider.
