Additional Comments
Liberty’s Queen of the Land (barn name: Queen) is a 2007 GVHS registered black blagdon Gypsy Vanner Broodmare. She was imported to the U.S. from Ireland in 2017. Queen is foundation bred, meaning she was bred directly from the Romani Gypsy’s stock. She possesses all the qualities they desire in a horse. Queen is a big and stocky girl with thick bone, nice feather and a stellar demeanor. She has a kind eye, and loves people, especially if they will dote on her with grooming and exercise.... (read more) She has impeccable ground manners and is exceptionally easy to handle. She could be a wonderful therapy horse in addition to being a broodmare. While in Ireland, she was trained to pull, however, since being in the U.S., she has transitioned into primarily being a Broodmare. I have, however, jumped on her back sparingly and she will plod around with no issue. She has no lameness or chronic medical issues and requires zero maintenance. She is fed a senior feed and is pastured at this time. When stalled, she is given her senior feed and a high-quality grass hay blend. As a mother, Queen is outstanding. She carries and foals easily, in addition has a copious amount of milk. Queen cares for her and teaches her foal, but allows people to handle her foal without a care. She also babysits and is good with foals belong to other mare. She tends to pass on her large bone to her foals, they are basically little tanks right out of her womb. Queen was bred by AI and is confirmed in foal for a 2025 foal out of Deerinwater Calvary (“Cal”), who stands at Hidden Ponds. Cal is a double-dilute silver cremello, with the leopard pattern gene. Therefore, Queen’s 2025 foal can only be palomino, buckskin or smokey black and has a 50% chance of being passed the silver gene, and a 50% chance of receiving the leopard pattern gene. In addition, Deerinwater Calvary is known for passing on his thick, beautiful mane and feathers. Queen is FIS/PSSM1 Negative, has color DNA profile and all general and repro veterinary records will be provided. Per my repro specialist, she has 5-7 more foals until she must promoted to a doting grandma (retired). She is up-to-date on all vaccinations, dental and farrier work. Queen currently has a big, beautiful, smokey black filly on her side, and will be available to leave the farm once weaned.
