Athena has it all! She’s gorgeous, experienced, trust worthy, and finished on the barrel pattern! Athena is an 8yr old 14.3hh QH/Arabian cross black mare. I have both of her parent’s papers but she’s a grade. Point this mare in any direction and she’ll go! I’ve done everything under the sun with this horse. She’s been competitively running barrels for two years. This girl can run! Normally places in the 2D. Push style.... (read more) Will dance a little at the gate but never rears. Athena would make a great barrel horse for a youth. My little sister (who is inexperienced at barrel racing) has ran her before and Athena did awesome. She’s also a great trail horse. Goes under, over, or through anything. Super used to farm equipment, guns, cattle, dogs, other horses. Crosses rivers, bridges, and logs. Has been on 30 mile trail rides. Easy walk, trot, lope, back up, neck reins, and moves off leg. Loads great. Stands to be tacked up, tied, and bathed. Great with vet and farrier. Wears front shoes throughout the rodeo season but can go barefoot. UTD on coggins, shots, dentist, and dewormer. Good turned out or stalled. Easy keeper. This girl knows her job and takes care of her rider. I’ve had beginners on her before and she did great. Although, she LOVES to run so I’d recommend a confident intermediate+ rider WITH SOFT HANDS for her. Absolutely no buck, kick, rear, or bolt. I’ve had Athena for years and did all her training myself. I hate to sell her but due to college, I am forced to find her a new home. I’ll be picky to where she goes. Good home a must.
