Look no further, Blues Smoking Pistol affectionately known as Pete the John Deere Horse. Pete is an absolutely gorgeous registered Tennessee Walking blue roan horse, he is just as proud as he is patient. He drops his head for the halter, bridle, and standing at 16.1, mounts by a tap of a finger ready to be saddled and mounted. He will turn heads and he will take care of you. For the first nine and a half years of his life, he was born, raised, and broke to ride on the facilities of the John Deere Farm in Port Byron, IL with Cheryl D.... (read more) May, DVM, and John C. May, CEO of John Deere. Bred by: Cary NC. He has always been under the best, 24/7 monitored camera and veterinarian care. Pete was so loved and appreciated, he was the last horse to be sold at the John Deere farm. Then James and Pete met and went to work, traveling many states for the last 7 months. He had a lot of fun, plenty of exposure, and experiences along with making many friends. He became a country boy. Pete will take care of you. He may be the biggest horse you’ll ever be on, but he will be the safest horse you will ever ride and the most fun and draw lots of attention with his looks. Pete bonds and connects well with anyone. He observes everything and handles every situation. Pete will take away any fear and give you confidence, and prestige. He will make you eager to try anything new with him. Pete will make you proud, he will make you feel safe. He is easy to saddle and mount because he parks out with the tap of a finger or you can climb on a fence, trailer, or block and Pete will sidepass over for you to mount with a snap of your finger. Which makes mounting very easy on a big horse. He is so eager and quick to learn. Every day he would amaze me, in training. Pete is a very kind horse with calm and gentle eyes, and his personality matches that. He prestigiously drops his head for a halter or bridle. Pete has a strong physical body that can carry you all day, ready to go again the next. He has exposure to many special events: from trail riding, field trials, and rodeos. Pete has field trial experience to the highest level from judging, handling, scouting, and the gallery. He will easily take the lead and get in there and observe the dogs and handler. He would also feel calm and ride in the back of the gallery. Pete has traveled many, many states and had different riders of various sizes, weights, ages, and personalities of all kinds riding him. Early in the morning when all the horses are fired up and ready to go, I can stand on top of him with horses moving and dogs barking all around him. Pete doesn’t even care or budge. He loves the water and the depth of a creek or river is not too deep for him. He loves the woods, crosses logs, creeks, bridges, ravines, and ditches, and takes them on as he owns them. Pete digs in and puts his feet and body in the right position while always taking care of you. In the north, he has ridden in prairie country with lots of holes and ditches, no worries for Pete. He responds to leg pressure and hand cues with ease. Pete has a nice and easy way of neck-reining. He has a very easy and nice smooth gait that will carry you all day and then some. Pete is comfortable with dogs, whips, and gunfire, and he loves small children. Any individual can lead and load him in a trailer, and he stands perfectly calm for them. You can ride him bareback with just a halter and lead rope on one side of his neck. I took him in open fields like this and cantering him down gravel roads. Pete can be ridden bridleless. He responds to leg and many other cues. He can side pass and open a gate with ease. You can catch him with ease, Pete will come to you by a cue. He grooms and baths easily, always looking forward to a nice warm bath. When saddling you can throw a saddle high in the air and it will land on his back with the fenders and stirrups flapping and no problem for Pete, he won't move. After riding him he will change your riding experience and you will never be the same, and you won’t want to be on any other horse. Pete is on his game and taking care of business no matter what event you have him in. He is always thinking, level-headed, and has a strong and balanced mind. He only deserves the very best home.
