Silfurtá was bred and born at the esteemed Vatnsleysa breeding farm, renowned for producing horses of immense talent. Her sire, Hrímnir frá Vatnsleysu, achieved a first prize rating with an overall score of 8.04. Hrímnir, himself sired by the illustrious Lord frá Vatnsleysu (8.25 and first prize for progeny) has proven his worth beyond his native Iceland, achieving remarkable success in both Tölt and Four-Gait competitions in Sweden. Silfurtá's dam, Hvönn frá Vatnsleysu, is an extraordinary mare with high-action gaits and amiable temperament. Hvönn is the progeny of the revered Glampi frá Vatnsleysu, a stallion who has not only earned the first prize but also the first prize for offspring.
