MAI TAI BON ANZA, aka Mai Tai is a 4 year old red dun registered AQHA mare. Mai Tai stands a bit below 14.2hh with room to grow, she has a mane and tail to die for and is very good looking. I am 5’11” and she has no trouble with me riding her around. She has a sweet face, it’s hard not to fall in love with this one. She was started under saddle in March and now has probably around 50 rides. She had around two months on the back burner due to no fault of her own and is now getting back into the swing of things.... (read more) I have found her to be a remarkably quick learner and very smart. She is very brave but not quite bombproof, with more miles she’ll get there real quick. She has a lovely W/T/C, both direct rein and leg steering, and stop all there. Starting to add neck reining along with her leg cues, she is working on a turn on the fore/haunches, lateral movement, collection, etc. She has flying lead changes as well. She has more go than woah and would do fantastic with someone who wants to game but won’t let her get hot about it. She was started using natural horsemanship/Buck Brannaman's methods, and has excellent ground manners, and a lot of groundwork. This girl adores attention and love, she is rarely mareish. She has been taught to follow the feel of a rope from both her neck and feet, and has been lightly roped off of. She has also lightly drug around barrels and sleds. Been ridden only western as my english saddle does not fit her, but I see no reason she couldn’t go that direction. I do think she would make one heck of a barrel horse. Recommending an advanced/intermediate rider as she is so early on in her training, would kill it as a step up horse for a kid who wants to show/finish out a horse. She would also be a good trail horse as long as she can be active. She is a special mare with plenty of potential, her price will only increase with training. Will be relatively picky about where she goes. Located in Grand Rapids, MN.
Been out trail riding alone and with groups she will lead or follow

Easy keeper, all I give her is a scoop of grain after working her
