Talk about a huge personality! Meet Toby a quarter horse morgan cross gelding, who stands 15h and 4 years old. Toby has a huge heart and soul for a young guy, he just wants to be everyone’s best friend.... (read more) He absolutely loves people and attention. He’s good with all farm animals, and gets along in a mixed herd with mares, geldings, and a mini cow. Toby patiently waits in his stall for someone to come by and greet him. He respectfully stands behind a stall guard and loves his salt lick. Toby doesn’t mind being in the barn by himself, or with company. He stands quietly on cross ties for kids to groom him, bathe him, clip him, tack him up, or anything else you may ask of him. Toby is also great for the farrier and vet. With Toby’s outstanding disposition he will even lay down on command!

If you want a drama free, fun, trail riding partner, this boy is for you! Toby will trot or canter across an open field and not change his rhythm. He is a perfect gentleman with anything you throw in his path. Crossing bridges, creeks, up and down banks, over logs, up or down steep slippery terrain, he will do it all and take his time. Toby is safe with traffic, dogs, kids, bikes and strollers. You can mount him from anywhere, whether it’s from the ground or on a picnic table. Toby doesn’t mind being in company or out by himself, he is well behaved in a group, he’s just happy to be there. He will ride anywhere in the group, front, middle, or back. Put him on any trail, he won’t let you down. Toby is unflappable. He has no issues with loading or unloading, or waiting patiently while unloading his friends.

Toby goes very well in the ring for his age. He has given beginner walk/trot lessons which includes walking over polls, weaving between jumps, and the kids doing “around the world” on his back. He doesn’t take advantage and never “tests” his rider. He can absolutely take a joke and loves the attention. Toby will walk, trot, and canter with ease. He rides in a snaffle and is light and supple in the mouth, he will even collect himself when asked. Toby will move off of your leg like a dream, and if you sit back he will stop. He is getting the ropes of being ridden bridleless, with a great stop, and back up. You can ride him bareback, english, or western. Toby is learning out how to leg yield, and side pass. He is truly the quickest learner with his “get to work” attitude. Toby is extremely brave to his fences, whether it’s cross country, or in the ring. Whoever he ends up with him will have an absolute blast. He has all the potential in the world for whatever discipline you may choose for him.

Toby has absolutely no vices (besides being annoyingly friendly), and is 100% sound. He sells up to date on wormer, vaccines, dentist and farrier. Toby currently wears front shoes and stays happy with one scoop of grain a day and free choice hay while he is in his stall.
