He was bred for Western Pleasure and was ridden Western the first 5 years of his life. I have been riding him English for the last 18 months. He can go either way. He had a lot of western buttons, spur stop, etc that were foreign to me but I am sure he would pick it back up quickly.
He is not a beginner horse as he will test his rider, once he knows you will not tolerate naughtiness he settles into work. The trainer here has used him for a few lessons with a teenager, the first time he tried to pop his shoulder out to avoid working with her, she circled him and sent him forward and he was fine after a couple times realizing she was not going to let him get away with it.
He does not like to hack / trail ride alone. I would not recommend him for someone looking for this type of horse.
He has no issues in the ring alone.
I think he would do well in a small lesson program or an intermediate rider and up, He loves anyone who gives him attention.
I don’t really jump so other than popping over a few cross rails, I have not trained him to jump. He seemed to like it and is young enough to learn.
