Meet Sonny! He is the perfect beginner's horse for young children. He's a 14.1 hh paint with no bad vices. Since we've owned him, he has never bucked, kicked, or reared--- the epitome of the word calm! He stands tied, picks up his feet for the farrier, and leads well. He's great with children. This horse is the definition of broke. We currently use him as a lead line horse for our five-year-old! We love Sonny, and hate to let him go.... (read more) However, he's very low on the pecking order and is getting mistreated by our more dominant horses.
Sonny is a dream horse for anyone wanting to start their children off on a wonderful equine adventure. He's bombproof and will cross water, poles, tarps, and nearly any other obstacle that comes to mind.
He recently had his teeth floated and had a farrier appointment recently.
He's a very fun horse and will willingly follow in whichever direction you take him! We can let him go and he will entertain himself without leaving the yard. He's a been there done that horse with experience in anything western. He used to be a rodeo playdate horse. This horse is a one-of-a-kind, and he is absolutely gorgeous! He's easy to catch and will come when signaled. He's kid-safe, husband-safe, grandma-safe, you name it! He will take care of any kid wandering his way. There has never been a moment where we have feared anything while being around Sonny.
He is an older horse in his early-mid twenties. We aren't sure of his exact age. Due to his age and possible arthritis, it is not recommended that he is ridden by any individual over one hundred pounds, and we have abided by that for the entirety that we've had him. Sonny cannot maintain his weight on just grass, therefore we give him complete feed. We feed him a mixture of Senior and sweet feed, twice a day. Thank you so much for viewing our ad.
