Rookie is an upper teens paint (quarter horse, mountain pleasure, saddle bred) gelding that I have owned for 9 years. I will check his teeth and take a picture but I have gotten to different ages on him. He's a 14.3 /15hh gentleman. No buck, rear, kick, or bite. He has more go then whoa and you wouldn't know he's an “older” man. He’s got the spunk and speed to show it. Light on his feet and soft in the mouth. He's also got the personality to boot!... (read more) Rides bareback in just a halter, double, or saddled. He’s done gymkhanas and exhibition at NBHA shows. I would recommend an intermediate rider or someone looking for a step up horse. He still has the spunk and speed to do the local shows or take him out on the trails. He likes to lead the group but loves having a job. He's been exclusively trail ridden for the last 7 years. Lunges with just vocal cues and he's great at reading body language. Does best put on pasture and out 24/7. I will not let him go to anyone looking to stall him regularly or taking him to a large boarding barn. (He just doesn't like it) Loads like a dream and hauls all over alone or in a group. Will paw when he's being impatient. Knows how to untie himself if you don't loop your lead rope right.
Up to date on everything. Feet trimmed today. Gets magnawave and chiropractor regularly.
