5 year old tri-color Irish Draught x Gypsy Vanner cross mare. Registered as Irish Draught Sport Horse. Approximately 15-15.2hh. Halters, leads, ties, has been hauled a few times and followed me into the trailer the last time with no issues. Okay about picking up feet. Sound. Very, very personable and curious, in your pocket type. If you go in the pasture, she’s going to come see what you’re up to!
I got her as a yearling, and due to my own issues with lack of facilities and then personal injuries, I haven’t been able to start her or do much ground work with her, so she is not broke yet and has had no tack on her other than the halter.... (read more) I can no longer physically handle working with youngsters and starting horses, so I am heartbreakingly having to sell her to a home that can bring out her potential.
Her sire (Gypsy Vanner) competed in western dressage, and I could see her doing that. She has gorgeous movement, and is solid and thick bodied, and I could see her going in a lot of different directions, i.e. eventing, working equitation, etc. I could see her making a great broodmare as well.
In the interest of full disclosure and honesty, she does have a one issue to be aware of: she eats fast and because of that, if she’s fed dry pellets she can end up choking on them. After experimenting with her feed, I have her on Purina Omolene 200 now (textured sweet feed) and she’s not had any more issues with that, and I’ve had her on that for over a year now. She has no trouble eating hay or grass, though. She is an easy keeper, as far as it doesn’t take a big amount of feed to keep her at a healthy weight.
Because of my physical issues, her tail is a matted mess right now and her feet need to be trimmed, (I have close pictures of those for anyone that wants them) She has fantastic strong feet, they just need a trim.
She is current on Coggins but not vaccinations right now.
PPE are welcome.
