“FM Sassy Socks” is a coming 4 year old registered Gypsy mare standing just a hair shy of 14.3 hands high. This girl is out of old foundation lines and it shows! Socks is a great size for nearly anyone and takes up the leg on a taller rider.... (read more) This girl is elegant and full of hair. She has a very laid back and sweet demeanor making her an absolute joy to work with. Socks is trainable and quickly picks up on what you teach her along with retaining all of the new things.
Socks is a dream in the barn. She is quiet and great with kids and commotion. She stands in cross ties, stands to be pampered and braided, she stands for bathes and stands in a stall quiet as a mouse but is also happy to be out.
In the heard. She is turned out with both mares and geldings, including weanlings and has been pastured with minis as well. She is the first to come to you in a field and is always happy to see people.
Under saddle, Socks is such a fun and comfortable ride. Socks stands like a statue to be mounted and dismounted. She picks up all three gaits with nice transitions followed by an easy stop. Socks has more woah than go but will move out nicely when asked or gladly walk all day. She will take the lead or fall behind a group on the trail or gladly hack out alone. She crosses bridges, streams, ditches, hills, roots and more. She is careful with her foot placement and watches each step she takes. Socks is great around tractors, skid steers, semis, and other machinery. Socks will hack out English, western, or bareback. She is patient with all of the shenanigans around here and can absolutely take a joke. She is very easy to get along with and loves being a partner. This girl has so much potential to go in nearly any direction.
She is the type everyone wants in their barn.
Under harness, Socks has been started with driving and is doing fabulous. She takes you confidently around the farm, she is proving herself to be just as simple under harness as she is under saddle. She stands nicely to be harnessed and hooked and walks on easily when asked.
