“Definately My HotRod” or better known around the barn affectionately as “Andy”, is a one in a million AQHA registered gelding. With names such as Zippos Old Gold, Blazing Hot, and Zips Chocolate Chip on his papers this gelding is a barn favorite! Watch the video, and you will see why! Standing a stout 16.1H, this 2013 gelding is in the prime of his life. Andy is youth and amateur friendly. He is quiet, uncomplicated, forgiving, and super broke.... (read more) He has been shown and has 1.5 open HUS AQHA points. Andy can slow down for the pleasure, move out for the HUS, and is handy for the pattern classes. He is incredibly c-o-m-f-o-r-t-a-b-l-e to ride english or western, he sports an easy neck rein, listens to your seat, and stops on the word “whoa”. He has all the fancy buttons you would want on one. This is my personal favorite in the barn right now!
Andy has lots of trail riding experience, and loves a great adventure! He will go out alone or with a group with no issues. He has been accustomed to cows, pigs, goats, and other wildlife. He does prefer riding on a groomed type of bridlepath/trail, rather than roughing it through rough ranch-y terrain. He will navigate over bridges easily, step over fallen debris, and with motivation cross water. Andy is unflappable with the tarp/flag and does not look to spook.
Andy is a huge people pleaser, and he LOVES being doted on. He will stand in the cross ties for hours being groomed or bathed. His mom died in birth so he was raised as an orphan, we attribute his “in your pocket” personality to this. Andy stands respectfully to be tacked up, he clips (no twitch needed), loads/unloads easily, hauls to new places with ease, stands quiet for mounting, and is easy to catch. His stall manners are excellent and he is agreeable in a pasture with friends. No stall vices (crib, pace, weave).
Simply put, this gelding is your perfect dream-horse. Fancy with safety wrapped up in one handsome package. This gelding would be ideal for a youth/amateur to take straight to the show pen with guidance from a trainer or hit the trails – he can certainly do it all! Andy has a super personality, a great work ethic, and he proves himself SAFE and FUN each ride. He has been a 2-owner horse his entire life, recently owned by a lady who kept him/rode him at home for a few years. Unfortunately, her life circumstances are not conducive to horse ownership at this time.
Andy sells with pre-vetting on file. He is 100% sound. He is UTD with his care including deworming/dental/coggins. Shod upfront in a regular shoe. Andy is located in Terrell, TX. We would be happy to assist in arranging transportation to any state.
