Sushi Roll is a gentle, 16-18 year old mare who wants to be right up next to you at all times! She is in your pocket but not unreasonable about it. She would be best with a family who has kiddos that just want to brush, love and cruise around on a pony that has a forward walk! She spends a lot of time in the front pasture on her own, and the noisy traffic does not bug her a bit. She does not spook at much of anything and has no bolt, buck or kick to her!... (read more) She has a huge personality and loves walking right beside you, so much so that she’ll follow around without a leadline! We think she may have been used as a “carnival” or “pony ride” pony who was kicked, then put out to pasture and forgotten about. She now lives with us on grass and has a leisurely life. She’ll tote kids back and forth and the rest of the time she spends lounging in the sun, napping or eating! (Just to keep her active when there’s no kids around to ride her, we will put a feed sack on the saddle and have her carry it out to the pasture with us. She is very polite for the farrier but does like like to put weight on the knee we think was kicked, so my farrier holds her foot very low to the ground, and she relaxes. She is so sweet and sensible and is loved by kids and adults alike. She is safe to be behind and will not kick.
I was told she was broke to drive as well but I don’t have the hardware to see if that’s true, so don’t take my word for it, but if she does, my loss is your gain!
