Meet Jerry an absolutely adorable Norwegian Fjord gelding. Sticks exactly 14.2 hands and is 13 years old. He’s a baroque guy and built just like a Fjord should be. He’s drafty, adorable, super cuddly and sweet as can be. A nice head with big kind eyes. Brown dun with the traditional dorsal stripe. I purchased this gelding from an older gentleman who owned him his whole life. He was extensively driven and the grandkids rode him. He has been used in the cart, manure spreader, sleigh, mower, parades, hay rake and pretty much any implement you can hook a horse to.... (read more) I unfortunately do not own a cart of harness but I guarantee he drives the very best for anyone. Jerry has been ridden for pleasure, mostly on trails and around the farm. He’ll ride in whatever tack you want to throw on him or he’ll happily ride around bareback. Much more whoa than go. He’s not looking to go anywhere fast. Rides on the buckle and is happy to walk along all day long. He’s very willing to trot and he has a very comfortable trot you can sit to all day. He’s your typical big heavy Fjord, not super into cantering. He’s physically able to canter but it’s a lot of worn and doesn’t last to long. It’s also instilled in his brain not to canter being a driving horse. He’s most happy just being walk/trot which is pretty common of the truly quiet Fjords. Before coming here he never saw an arena in his life, he still doesn’t know much about ring work but he’s honest and willing. Outside the arena he’s bombproof and just goes wherever. Rides in a snaffle bit and has good brakes. Jerry is super sweet and has that typical Fjord demeanor that we all love. He has excellent feet and has never worn shoes in his life. Never been sick or lame. The easiest keeper in the world that requires no maintenance. Stays fat on air. Lives inside or out and gets along with anyone. This horse is a phenomenal asset to any backyard, family or therapy program. Up to date on everything and ready to go to his new home. Many videos available. Please call or text me for videos.
