Pinched “Matty”
16.2 Bay Thoroughbred gelding, Jockey Club Name: Pinched. Race trained, but never raced, not tattoed. DOB 03/31/2011. Barn name: Matty.
This sweet gelding came into my life March 2023. I understood him to be a WBX lesson horse when I purchased him. I was looking for a safe, lowkey, versatile horse for low level dressage and trail. After purchase, I traced his USDF record, found his previous owner and discovered that he is a full Thoroughbred (Storm Cat).... (read more) I also discovered (separately and later) he has EPM. Because he is so sweet and talented and his symptoms were minimal, I chose to treat him, which I have successfully done. He is now healthy and back to work. He receives a maintenance dose of pellets twice a week.
Now that he is healthy, he is too much horse for me. He needs a rider who will give him a job and take advantage of his beautiful movement. He has a USDF record through First Level and has schooled 2nd. Matty tries very hard to please his rider. He has no vices. While I’ve owned him, he’s enjoyed trail rides, clicker training, and trail obstacle work (umbrellas, pool tubes, etc). He turns out with mares or geldings. His only quirk is that he dislikes being bridled/haltered from directly in front. He easily performs these tasks from the side.
I would love to find him a home where he will be loved and have a meaningful job in the dressage ring. PPE and x-rays are available.
