Mac (JC War Machine) is a coming 6yo, ~16.2 hand OTTB gelding. He is looking for a long term home only.

Mac is a really fun guy to have around the barn! He has a very inquisitive personality and always wants to be involved in what you’re doing. He is quiet and safe to handle on the ground and under saddle. He stands nicely for the farrier and vet. He’s been barefoot for about 12 weeks and is transitioning well.... (read more) Mac prefers to live out 24/7 (he doesn’t have any stall vices, he’s just much happier in general when he’s living out).

Mac would be best suited for lower-level work due to hock arthritis that does require some minimal maintenance (I’m happy to discuss details with seriously interested parties). He had a bone chip removed from his right front fetlock when he came off the track, but that does not cause him any trouble. He’s a cute mover with comfy gaits and could excel at trails, pleasure riding, dressage, etc. Mac has hacked out alone confidently and does not tend to be spooky.

He’s done quite a bit of groundwork and some basic clicker training and really enjoys interacting with people on the ground, too. He’s not a super snuggly type who wants to be groomed and doted on, but he DOES really want to spend time doing and learning things with his person.

While Mac is quiet and safe, he is not for a beginner as he is a sensitive guy who can get frustrated if his rider is unclear or too handsy.
