Wow, take a look at this handsome fella. This is Drew, a four year old, tri-colored draft-cross gelding that stands a sturdy 14.2 hands tall. He is the horse that all the children race to come and ride. He thrives on all the attention and does not mind a bit that they fight over him. He also spent some time as the local school teacher’s personal driving horse where she took him to school every day and he would wait for her til the day was done and then happily trot their way home for the evening.... (read more) He is great in traffic and has a wonderful steady trot that does not need to be pushed while driving. He has come into our program and taken all that we threw at him without ever blinking an eye. He has one of the most willing and sweet personalities that we have gotten to work with. He is a great size where anyone of any age would feel safe and secure while riding him. He will stand to mount from the ground and from the mounting block or anywhere you need him to stand for you to get on. He knows how to laydown, sit, and will let you shoot a gun off of him or crack a bullwhip if you would like. Drew has also spent a lot of time down the trails and will go anywhere that you want to go. He rides off the farm or you can trailer him anywhere and he will willingly go with a group or without one. You can be the leader with confidence or fall somewhere in the middle. He will even ride away without causing you an issue. He is easy to ride and will go english or western and has a great back to ride bareback as well. He knows his leads in the arena and has one of the most comfortable canters around where you feel like cantering all day long. He has a great fast walk so that you will not feel like you have to push him down the trail when you go for an all day ride. He goes through creeks or deep water and has been over lots of different bridges and does not mind when taken to something new. He will back up easily and has a little turn around as well with an easy side pass. Drew does not need to be ridden every day to stay consistent with his training. He can be ridden every day, or once in a while and doesn’t need to be tuned up to keep being awesome. He is a horse that will get you noticed with his beautiful flowing mane and tail. He has a cute little white star on his forehead and a soft expression in his eye. He is wearing shoes all around because of where we ride and he does great for the farrier. He does not have any bad habits in or out of the stall and will stand quietly in the cross ties while you groom and tack him up. If you feel that this is the horse that you have been looking for, please feel free to give Duane of Buckeye Acre Farm a call @ our phone number to come and meet him.
