Stetson is a handsome gray gelding standing 14.1hh that anyone can ride. He has been used at a ranch and in the arena on the heeling side. He has also been used in the pasture and the pens for sorting roping steers and pushing them in the chutes and trailers. He is used to heavy equipment (i.e. dump trucks, semis, airbrakes, horns, lawnmowers, weed eaters, leaf blowers, backhoes, etc.) We have a construction company next door and he is used to all their sights and sounds. Stetson will let you open and close gates off of him, he has no problem walking across water/mud, down streams, through thick brush, he'll go up/down/across deep ditches and ravines, over fallen trees, through the woods with no spook. He is kid and dog-friendly, with great ground manners, is easy to catch, and gets along with all of our other horses, mares, and gelding alike.
He has great ground manners and stands very well for being saddled and bridled, bathed, groomed, while being sprayed for flies, for picking his feet, standing tied, for being mounted (from the ground or a mounting block), and for the vet/farrier. He loads and hauls very well. He is the type of horse that you can ride every day, once a week, or once a month, and he will ride the same, we warm him up if it's been a while.
Stetson will be a great prospect for; break away, calf roping, goat tying, ranch rodeo, ranch sorting, team penning, play days, barrels, poles, little britches, drill team, parades, trail horse, trail horse competition, polo, western pleasure, walk-trot, lead line, a lesson horse, English, or just a great all around family horse.
Stetson is a stout made gelding with a handsome head and face, a kind eye, a strong thick neck and shoulder, a straight back, good withers with a wide chest and hip. He is very sweet and would be perfect for a child or an adult learning to rope, sort, or any other equine sport you'd like. He is a stout boy probably weighes close to 1000 pounds and can easily carry over 200 pounds.
