This is "ARCHIE", a beginner, youth, and novice friendly Norwegian Fjord gelding. He is gentle, quiet natured, and naturally slow legged. The Norwegian Fjords are a hardy and sturdy breed that originated in the mountainous regions of western Norway. They are one of the oldest breeds and were used by Viking warriors. In modern days they are sought after for their excellent temperament, agility, gentleness, strength, and durability.... (read more) Archie is extra kind, patient, and forgiving. He has been used for ranch work, checking fences, and riding through cattle. He rides wonderful in the arena and can be ridden by beginners and youth riders. He will not try to take advantage of timid riders. He is 14.2 hands tall and 12 years old. He has been there and done that. He hops right on a trailer, hauls great, stands for a bath, and he stands to mount from either side. He will cross any depth of water without hesitation. He likes to go trail riding and takes his time down steep embankments and rough ground. He will not go any faster than his rider asks. He is obedient and he aims to please. He is a super calm gentle horse to have around to go check cattle on, use him for riding lessons, or take a leisurely trail ride. He is traffic safe and not spooky.
