PHOENIX

12 year old grade paint mare (current owner has had her since she was 3, so while she is not papered we are confident in her age), standing around 15.1. Phoenix is a sweet mare, easy to catch and loves attention. Safe for any level handler. She is a true all arounder, goes both english and western. Shes been HAULED, including fox hunting, beach trips, tons of trail riding, and sorting cows. Phoenix stands for the farrier, on cross ties and straight tied, hauls well, turns out with mares and geldings, and keeps a tidy stall.... (read more) Sound barefoot. UTD on everything.

While I consider Phoenix beginner safe, I would say she is beginner safe if the rider is confident and consistently working with a trainer. If you plan to work with her on your own, I believe an intermediate rider would be a better fit. She is a forward mover, which may intimidate an extremely novice rider on their own. HOWEVER she’s toted plenty of confident beginners under the correct circumstances!!

I *really* like this mare! If I kept a bigger lesson program, I would take her myself. Phoenix is the true definition of an all arounder. I’ve used her in a lesson with an intermediate child, and she was wonderful. She would make a GREAT 4 H horse.

Current owner is letting her go to reduce her herd, and is requiring the best home only. She does not want her passed around.
