“Call me Maestro” aka “Maestro” is a 5yr old, 16.3hh, tb gelding. I have been dreading this post, however it is time for my Maestro boy to go make someone else happy. Maestro is the sweetest boy, with a puppy dog personality. He enjoys cuddles, and will fall asleep in your arms. He will stand on the cross ties to be groomed, tacked, bathed, etc. Maestro has great ground manners, and he is safe for anyone to work around. He has zero bad habits in the barn, and he can live in, or out.... (read more) He turns out with a mixed herd, and he is easy to catch, if he isn’t already at the gate waiting for you. He is very drama free.
Maestro is good for the vet and the farrier. He currently only has front shoes on. He doesn’t require any special care, supplements, or maintenance. He loads and trailers, you can tie him to the trailer to get ready, and he knows how to back off of a trailer.
On the trails, Maestro will lead, follow, go out alone and in groups. He is brave, and not spooky. He goes where you ask, and he is safe with traffic, dogs trailing along side of him, deer, bikes, etc. Maestro crosses logs, water, rocks, and other trail obstacles. He absolutely loves adventures!!
I have been taking my time bringing Maestro along in the ring, between mud, cold, and just letting him learn at his own pace. This boy is very intelligent and learns FAST. He rides english, western and bareback. His gaits are uphill and smooth. Maestro will w/t/c in the ring, and he has been lightly started over fences. I have been working on teaching proper collection, leg yields, lateral movements, along with some western buttons such as pivot, side pass, etc. Maestro can go around in a western pleasure type jog, or move out into a beautiful trot. He is right in the middle of whoa and go, he will ride around slow and easy, he is not hot or forward, and you don’t need a crop to move him along. He knows voice commands as well.
When we have had the ability, we have played around over fences. He is honest and easy. All of his jumping so far has been low and slow, no rushing etc. Everything that I have thrown at this boy in the past few months, he has taken with stride. He knows how to take a joke, and he enjoys when we goof around. Maestro is amateur friendly, and currently set up to go in absolutely any direction. I have fallen in love with this boy, because who doesn’t love a dreamy, red head with loooong legs, who enjoys cuddles??? The rider in his pics and video, is 5’7 with long legs.
Maestro is ready to start his next adventure, and find his forever person. He will put a smile on your face everyday.
