Meet Duncan! This 15 hand, 13 year old, grade Quarter Horse gelding is just as sweet as his name implies! This handsome guy is equally as wonderful undersaddle as he is on the ground, and has proven himself to be a reliable, kind, steady-eddy type who is incredibly eager to please his rider as well as be your best friend. Duncan is an absolute dreamboat to ride and is perfectly suited for an amateur adult dressage rider, especially one who likes to spend time alternating between the arena and the trails.... (read more) He is a great size; big bodied enough to accommodate a taller rider (rider in video is 5'8") but not so tall that a more petite rider feels overwhelmed. In the dressage arena, Duncan has three lovely, ground covering and comfortable gaits. He is incredibly soft in the bridle and effortlessly makes an ideal shape for lower level dressage. His transitions are easily ridden, and he has the most terrific "woah" one could hope for. He's brave in new arenas and has been the same ride day in and day out. He's a master of consistency and reliability! I think he would also do well in the western dressage arena. I've ridden him inside and outside, around farm equipment, around livestock, taken him to the beach, ridden past dogs, etc. and he's always been wonderful! Outside of the arena, Duncan is comfortable and surefooted in the woods and enjoys a leisurely trail ride. He would be well suited for somebody who likes to balance their time working in the arena with relaxing on the trails! On the ground, Duncan has terrific manners and is a pleasure to work around. He will stand to be groomed and fussed over, is great with clippers and spray bottles, and is just an all-around pleasure to work with. He loads and unloads easily on and off the trailer (I can do it alone, completely unassisted) and is good in new places. He will cross tie and single tie to your trailer or a fence rail. He is up to date on vaccines, dental, farrier, etc. and has a negative Coggins. He is barefoot with great, round, symmetrical feet (says my farrier!). He's great for the vet and farrier, too. He does well in turn out with a buddy, but is also fine to be turned out alone too. I could talk about how great this gelding is all day long! Please call for more information!
