“Duke”
16 yr old 14.2 hand Buckskin Grade Quarter Horse Gelding
Duke is the sweetest and most gentle gelding, and we have absolutely loved every minute of having him in our barn. He has impeccable ground manners and stands quiet for all grooming, bathing, farrier and tacking up. He cross ties and stands tied quietly for as long as you want him to. He has been very easy to handle and been great for our lesson kids to learn how to care for a horse.... (read more) Many of these students have very limited experience with horses and they can get him from the stall or pasture, take off and put on his blankets, groom and get him ready and unpack him for their lessons all by themselves. He is not spooky or a flighty natured horse. He rides quiet in the arena, and is more of a kick style ride. He has a nice walk, trot and canter. Neck reins and direct reins. He has been show in all classes in 4H and at the fun shows.
Duke is a great trail horse, and he will be your steady eddy that you can count on to have a good time, on the trails with your friends, or he is confident enough to hit the trails out by himself. He loads and unloads from the trailer with ease. And has no bad habits or vices. He is sound and hasn’t required any maintenance. He is truly just one of those great horses all around that is so easy to fall in love with his sweet personality!
