If you are looking for a safe horse with a good head on his shoulders, Chance is for you! He's a 12 year old, AQHA registered gelding. I have taught tons of lessons on him with kids ages 4-13 and he has been perfect. He's not spooky, and has great confirmation. He has a beautiful, smooth, movement, and he's easy to ride.
He loves trails, so if a trail horse is what you're looking for, he'd be perfect for you. He will walk on a loose rein all day but will willingly step it up if you ask him to.... (read more) I've ridden him around tons of other unfamiliar horses and have never had a problem with him.
He has been started on the barrel pattern and has been running at shows for the past year. I've hauled him to a bunch of different arenas so he's used to being in new places and around unfamiliar horses. He's never had any alley issues. He knows the barrel pattern well, he just needs a little more work before he's finished. With his calm personality, he would be great for teaching kids to run barrels too. He's not going to be the fastest one out there but he'd be great for somebody who wants something calm and safe to learn on. He was my first barrel horse and I learned a lot on him.
He rides and loads great in a slant or stock trailer, and stands for baths and the farrier. I currently have him pastured with a senior gelding, a mare, a cow, and a mini horse, and he gets along great with all of them. He has front shoes and is not a hard keeper. The only reason I am selling him is that due to my schedule, I don't have time to work him and give him a job. We are located in Central Alabama, about 45 min East of Birmingham.
