Amos is a 12 year old 16.0 hand bay draft cross gelding. If safety is your top priority than Amos is for you. This gelding is about as safe and quiet as you can find one. Good for any age and any level. Very uncomplicated and straightforward kind of ride. He is not fancy and not a show horse but he is SUPER SUPER SAFE. Amos rides English and he rides western. Walks, trots, canters, knows his leads, stops, stands and backs. He stands like a statue at the mounting block for mounting and dismounting.... (read more) He will not walk off until he’s told. This horse really has the patience of a saint. Has a nice soft mouth and rides in a snaffle bit. Amos has smooth, easy to sit to gaits and is not quick or forward. He listens to all cues and is the kind of horse that can be ridden weekly, monthly or yearly. No need to lunge or warm up. If you’re looking for a beginner horse, husband horse, kids horse, therapy horse, lesson horse or just a really nice all around family type horse Amos is your guy. He’ll step over small cross rails and would also be a great asset to a mounted patrol unit. Amos rides around the arena wonderfully and he’ll trail ride anywhere you point him. Totally unflappable and will ride out alone or with others. I don’t like to call a horse spook proof but he’s pretty close. Not barn or buddy sour at all. Completely road safe. Amos is also broke to drive. He has the best ground manners, is good for everything and a very sweet in your pocket personality. This horse has soulful eyes and just a good way about him. He’s the kind that can win anyone over in less than 5 minutes. These super quiet draft cross geldings get harder and harder to find everyday. If you want a super safe confidence builder, steady eddy type he’s the one you want. He’s as trustworthy and safe as they come but educated and rides around the right way. No vices, a very easy keeper, barefoot and sound. Happily lives inside or out with excellent pasture and barn manners. Gets along with all other horses or he can live alone.
