One of the sweetest and kindest Icelandic mares.
Syrpa was imported from Iceland in 2017. My friend Nicki Pfau found her for us and she knew exactly what we wanted and she nailed it!! Syrpa is tall, super easy to deal with and is pretty much unflappable.
She has an easy to find comfortable tölt even for advanced beginners. She is kids and husband safe….for most of them:)
She loads and trailers well, easy to give a bath to, not afraid of clippers, rides indoors, outdoors, on the track and on trails.... (read more) She is used to tractors, cars, bikes, motorcycles, dogs, cows….you name it. Can be ridden alone or in groups and is a pleasure to have around. She can be ridden with saddle or bareback pad, with or without bit. Syrpa has never (since I imported her) been sick or lame.
You can pony her with a young child or a total beginner if you want to play it totally safe....and you always should! I can easily say that Syrpa is our most reliable and safe horse. She has given us 4 absolutely beautiful and levelheaded foals and of course could be bred again.
The only reason that she is ( heavy hearted) available is due to herd reduction, quitting my breeding business and that I believe I am still “ young and stupid“ enough to start the rest of my youngsters.
I listed her temperament as a "2"....meaning that she is very sweet, not pushy and kind. She is not a slowpoke. In all the years I have had her she has never misbehaved. I always hesitate listing any horse as 100% bombproof. Horses are flight animals and if I see one advertised as having never spooked, reared, bucked, bolted or done something wrong I assume the horse has been dead for 11 years. Funny but true!
