This one breaks my heart a bit to list, but I always do whats best for my horses.
Merlin is a 4yo 14.2h and stocky built AQHA gelding. This guy is bred to do any job. He is by a CD Olena/Lil Peppy CD/Cats Headliner stud and out of a High Brow Back mare. I hae owned him for almost two years now and he has by far been the easiest horse to have around. He is very low maintenance and he gets along in any living situation. He is beyond kind and he loves everyone.... (read more) He is quiet and kind enough for absolutely anyone to handle. He stands perfect for grooming, bathing, clipping and saddling. He loves treats too. In the ring he has three easy gaits, he canters from a walk, has a good whoa, neck reins and direct reins. He is light in the bridle and always rides in a double jointed snaffle. He rides english and western and will jumps around a 2' course. He is not scared of any fillers and never says no even with new jumps. He gets his changes but they are not auto yet, you have to ask for them. I have taken him to about a dozen shows and he is the easiest one at each one. He stands at the trailer all day whether he has company or not. He requires zero prep and he will calmly walk into the show ring the same horse every time. He is the type to just unload and go show. He self loads on the trailer and he hauls easy. I have shown him mostly in ranch riding classes with the occasioanl english class and the judges always love him and I have gotten many compliments on him and his happy demeanor. Out of the ring is probably his favorite place to be. He is my go to trail horse no matter what time of year it is or what the weather looks like. He is the one i let sit for 3 months last winter and I pulled him out and went for a trail ride with just a halter and two lead ropes on him. He is beyond brave, he loves water, he is great with dogs and traffic. I haven't found a single thing that spooks him yet. He will lead or follow and will ride out alone too. We have had him on a 9 mile hunter pace where a younger timid rider took him out and he was perfect the whole time. He has schooled some smaller cross country jumps with ease too. Before I got him he did do some team roping and he was used on the heal side. He loves to work cows and is great to swing a rope off of. He is barefoot, sound, cleaned legged and has no vices or maintenance. This guy is the definition of versatile and big hearted. You won't find a job that he won't be able to do. I have been very lucky to have him for the last two years, but unfortunately 3 jobs just keeps me too busy to give him the attention and time that he deserves. He is in light work right now and he would love to hae more of a 'full time' job. He is safe enough for a youth rider to finish with a trainer, and he is perfect for the amatures or pros to finish too. Don't miss out on him, he is the type that is a once in a lifetime.
