Patch is a cute Brown/bay and white pinto gelding that is very well broke. He was ridden and owned by a family for trail rides (trails and on the side of the road) and for playday events. He was ridden by the whole family, from the parents and grandparents to their grandkids. Patch has a good handle, and rides on a loose one-hand neck rein, with a good backup, and stop. He is very smooth at the walk, trot, and canter.... (read more) He will ride the same way, every time whether he is rode every day or a few times a year.
Patch has no problem carrying a flag, opening/closing gates, walking in water/mud, down streams, in the woods, through thick brush, over fallen trees, up/down/across deep ditches and ravines, in the woods with no spook. One of our neighbors is a construction company, so all of our horses are exposed daily to scary noises and monsters. All of our horses are used to the sights and sounds of heavy equipment, trucks with trailers carrying lawnmowers, and the sounds of leaf blowers, weed eaters, and lawnmowers. The sights and sounds of backhoes, dump trucks, and semi-trucks (all with air breaks, and their other sounds).
Patch will stand still while being clipped, bathed, groomed, fly sprayed, picking his feet, for the vet or farrier (he just had his teeth floated on January 2nd), and while being bridled and saddled. He stands still for mounting (from the ground or a mounting block), he stands tied to the trailer or fence, and he loads and hauls very well. He is gentle, he is a big pet, and has always been easy to catch, he is kid and dog friendly, and gets along well with all of our other horses, mares and geldings alike.
Patch will be a great prospect for; ranch sorting, team penning, grand entry, playdays, little britches, barrels, poles, drill team, parades, pony club, hunter/jumper, queen's contests, trail riding, trail competitions, walk-trot, lead line, a lesson horse or train for whatever disciplines you like. Patch is young enough to go in any direction that suits you.
Patch is a good looking flashy brown/bay and white gelding with 4 white stockings, standing 14.2hh, with great conformations. He has a thick beautiful mane and a tail that almost touches the ground. He has a small head and ears with a beautiful face, a kind eye, a good strong thick neck and shoulder, a nice wither, straight back, and a wide hip and chest.
Patch will fit an advanced beginner or a beginner taking lessons. He can take you on trail rides, and the kids to play days at night. He will put a smile on your face when you ride him!!! Patch will be a great addition to your stable. He is safe, sound, sane, with no vices. Please no outside trades, deposits, or payment plans. First come, first serve.
This horse is the sole property of Doug Gittins and comes with; a 30 day guarantee in writing (as a signed contract), a current negative Coggins, and we give every horse a strep (strangles) and a flu/rhino 4-1 vaccine.
