Additional Comments
Risky is a flashy, 16 hand 2005 chestnut thoroughbred who is a fantastic all-around horse. He is a perfect horse for a young person who wants to do some eventing or showing for the next 3-5 years before they go off to school or a great all-around horse for a small adult rider.
Risky has done it all. Most recently he has shown at the .85 -.90 jumpers and has won ribbons at Upperville, Loudoun Benefit, World Equestrian Center, Swan Lake, Great Meadows, and local horse shows.... (read more) He goes trail riding regularly – alone or in groups, does lots of flat work, hill workouts, and jumping lessons on a regular basis. He has even been on a few fox hunts and hunt trail rides and started his career in eventing up through Beginner Novice. He is extremely broke on the flat, has flying lead changes down pat and loves to go in a hackamore on his stretching days. He has very comfortable gaits and is a joy to ride.
Risky is a wonderfully sweet calm horse to have in the barn. He is a wise soul who loads well, stands on the cross ties and stands for the farrier. He wears a cribbing collar and does not crib when wearing it – it is a non-issue. He is sure footed, and careful. He loves a rider who is confident and kind with soft hands. He is an outstanding jumper and loves galloping around a jumper course. He taught our daughter to ride when she was 12 and he taught me to do jumpers. He has many more years left in him to take his next rider to the next level in their riding or bring enjoyment to a small amateur who wants to just have fun with him. He would also be perfect for a junior transitioning from a pony to a horse. He is a great teacher and has one more place to call his forever home. He is very sound, healthy, and low maintenance.
