Rikki is a 2016 gorgeous Palomino Quarter Horse grade gelding that stands just under 14.2 hh and is a sweetheart go-to mount in and out of the arena.
He is an absolute dream horse that is safe for the whole family, including kids and beginners. Rikki loves attention, is quiet, has excellent ground manners, and has a Natural Horsemanship foundation. He also has sensory training, including stick and string, tarps, flags, moving bridge, bicycles, quads/motorcycles, hikers w/ walking sticks/big backpacks, etc.... (read more) He is not a spooky horse and has many hours on him preparing for life experiences on and off the trail. He is also good around dogs, tractors, stall cleaners, ranch equipment, and overall, maintains a quiet demeanor. He is an easy keeper, can live in a stall or pasture, gets along with other horses (not alpha), is great for bathing, the farrier, and LOVES being groomed.
Rikki ranch raised and used for all aspects of ranch work, including gathering, separating pairs, branding, doctoring, loading trucks, overnight trips, and working the feedlot. He opens/closes gates with ease, side passes, moves off of leg, and has a nice long trot. You can take Rikki away from the barn and away from horses with NO problems. He has no idea about being “barn sour”, “buddy sour”, or sour in general. He is a gentleman that is willing and ready to do what is asked of him without issue. He has also done many overnight camping trips and does great on high-line, hobbles, or portable pens. He is EASY to haul, load, and just gets along with no complaints.
In the arena, Rikki picks up leads with ease, has smooth gaits, a nice slide stop, and is soft. He has been used for trail trial competition, ranch sorting, ranch versatility, schooling shows, and could easily take on and participate at any event or club like 4H, gymkhana, Queen horse, Jr. Rodeo, etc. He would also be great for English or a pony club horse for a youth and up. He goes over small jumps with ease and would make a great English, Jumping, and/or Dressage horse.Rikki is the guy you can send the kids/grandkids out to catch, groom, and ride without worries. He is quiet, loves kids, and is safe.
Overall, Rikki is a true gentleman, who is well trained and suitable for all levels and ages. If you are looking for an all around gelding for the whole family to enjoy- look no further than Rikki. He is truly the whole package.
