Hi, let's talk about Ms. Heidi von Essen!
Heidi is a talented PowerHaus. She should mature to at least 15.3/16hhs and fill out in the desired places.
Heidi has a gentle and kid-safe temperament. She should be ready to start riding soon and should be easy to start.... (read more)
*Please note: Her arena movement photos were taken five months ago. Since then, her color has increasingly become Rose-Grey(Red-ish with gold highlights), and Heidi has grown considerably. The pasture photos were taken on 1/7/23.
Bloodlines/Color/Height/Conformation:
Heidi is out of a full Percheron sire, and her dam is a QH/Andalusian cross, equalling 50 percent Percheron and 50 percent QH/Andalusian. She is a rose-steel dapple-gray with a thick black dorsal stripe.
Heidi has fantastic conformation and string tests at 16.0 hhs. She is 1 yr & 6-7 months, as stated by the auction and vet aged-confirmed. She stands at 14.2hs and should have height with huge hooves/knees/hocks/fetlocks/much feather and a large-rounded hind, with a lean yet powerful build. She has an excellent shoulder angle, well-angled pasterns with large firm hooves, is clean-legged, has a deep chest, and is correct in her build.
And Legs, Legs, Legs for miles!
Her movement is elegant, floaty, and with powerful hind-end impulsion. She doesn't touch the ground in an extended trot and exhibits upper-level dressage movement. Therefore, she could be a fine English Dressage, eventing prospect, or Western dressage/sport horse. Heidi could also make a relaxed, smooth-gait hunter prospect, as evidenced by her second relaxed trot-moving photo.
Personality/temperament/Health:
She is kind-hearted, brave-hearted, and affectionate. She loves her hind scratched and has much goofy-puppy dog charm, indicative of the gentle-giant Percheron. Further, Heidi is docile and level-headed and does not spook. She is an easy keeper, exhibits robust health, and is built like a hearty tank with beauty/agility --think a Ram Truck crossed with a sportscar.
Heidi's History:
She was purchased at auction from a breeding farm dispersal in Montana. The breeding farm could not keep up with the $600 a round bale costs in their area in Montana. Her Percheron sire was an 18.1hh black stallion. Her dam was declared from QH cutting and racing bloodlines, and her Andalusian bloodlines were stated to have Santiago, a 500k dressage grey Andulsian, as her dam's grandsire—the dispersal comprised of broodmares, stallions, and yearlings at auction. Only the farm's Stallions and Broodmares sold with papers. Heidi and the farm's offspring-yearlings crossed with three breeds, Percheron/QH/Andalusian, were not registered.
*Please note: Heidi's price will increase as she grows taller, matures, and fills out into the stunner she will become.
Training:
She is training to steer with a pressure point-bitless halter and is almost ready for a bridle. She has been trained to move off-side pressure
during her groundwork. Therefore, she should be easy to teach to ride, as she’s gaining the correct training foundation.
Travel assistance:
Heidi will be an expensive value horse once she matures and is green to ride.
*Our reputation for selecting high-quality and beautiful yearlings and horses has a proven track record.
Many references are available upon request, as we keep in touch with our buyers and have never had a client who did not love our horse, even without meeting the horse before purchasing.
