Capone is a 16 year old AQHA gelding, ready for his next family! He was purchased by the last owner as a 3yo and spent many years competitively barrel racing. The last couple of years he has slowed down and added in some trail riding miles. He is not being sold as a barrel horse. He was retired sound before I purchased him– I am not selling him as a barrel horse. He is broke as broke can be and has been hauled all over. He will step off the trailer and ride just like at home, he stalls or stays in pens overnight.... (read more)
He spent spent a week trail riding in Custer, SD where he ponied a 3yo off her pony. And yes, the pony was in front, up the behind, and darn near under his belly at times. He very much prefers a slower pace and will ride at the end of the pack, then move ahead to cross the water first and show the youngins how it’s done!
No buck, no rear, truly a pleasure to ride. I trust him to pack a 3yo on the lead line. He gets along with other horses on the trailer or in the pasture. He is currently paddock board, I grain him a cup in the morning and a cup at night because of the paddock. In pasture board he is ration balancer only. Unless you want to spoil him.
He is up to date on vaccinations, worming, and feet (barefoot) and comes with a 2023 Coggins. Last had a dental Nov 2023. I’m a beginner horse owner and have learned very quickly I do not have what it takes to keep up with him yet. Ex (Boarding, saddle and tack, vet, and mostly time.) I am a single mom, home owner, business owner and I am spread too thin. My kids and I love him and want him to go to the perfect home. All three of us can get on him and ride anytime (that we have the time).
He’s level headed, willing, athletic, and an overall joy to be around. He’s shown me he has the buttons for an advanced rider but also has the patience for a young rider. Capone is truly a one in a million horse, and he’s handsome beyond belief!”
He walks to you to the gate, turns out, saddles, meets at the mounting block, super trusting, great horse full of love.
