We’ve been back and forth on making this decision, but with life happening it’s for the best. Bear with me on this post, it might get a little lengthy, but I will do my best to include everything.
To start off, he has a long resume in the roping pen.... (read more) On the head side he will put you at the cow every time. Whether it’s a trotter or a freshie, he is there. He holds the speed & rate freakishly good. When you’re ready for your brick house to turn, just give him a little bump. He handles a steer so smoothly. On the heel side, he’s as honest as they come. He will put you there every single time no matter the circumstances. He’s seriously such a Cadillac. On both ends he leaves the box quite & flat. He never gets hot & scores like a rock! We’ve roped on him anywhere from the #7’s-#13’s. This is the guy that we can put anyone on in the practice or performance pen with no issues. Everyone that has been on his back clicks with him in a heartbeat.
Outside of the arena, you will still find the same level headed trusty steed. If you, kids, or grandparents need to go check fence, sort pens, or push steers, just toss them on he will take care of them every single time. There isn’t one thing this gelding will shy away from. He has seen it all. Between trail rides, traveling through creeks/rivers, riding through tight thicket, everything. You don’t even have to have a saddle, just get on and go.
On the ground, you will find the most puppy dog horse. He wants to be in your lap, but knows personal space and boundaries. “Maverick” is absolutely dog gentle and safe for kiddos to run around and ride. You can tie him next to other horses, by himself, or leave him in the trailer with no worries. He just wants to be everyone’s friend.
“Maverick” stands amazing for the farrier and is currently barefoot. He goes 100% SOUND and requires no maintenance. He loads/unloads in & out of trailers by himself. This is one of the easiest horses to keep, he stays fat off air. There’s not one vice or bad thing I could say about him. Come see for yourself.
