I call my horse Bric. He has more of a bay coloring, but I did verify with the people that foaled him, that the registry papers I have are his. I did not register him in my name because I do not show him. I strictly trail ride only, with him. He is capable of so much more! I sent him out for some training, basically for manners. He is a big horse with a big motor. My normal 2-3 hr ride is nothing for him. He can go all day! He’s been ridden on roads, trails and parades.... (read more) He trailers well and stands for the farrier. I work him in the round pen and recently started teaching him to play with a large ball. He’s very smart and learns very quickly. He is not a beginner horse. He would be well suited to some one who is looking for an energetic, left brained horse. He is quite dominant, but as long as he knows he can’t be pushy, he settles right in. He has never offered to buck or kick. He rides out alone and is excellent in a group. The only reason I am selling him, is, he’s too large for me to ride anymore. I literally can’t dismount due to excruciating knee pain. I’m 62 years old and 5 years ago, riding him wasn’t painful. Now it’s debilitating. I am not a professional rider, I’ve ridden trails my entire life so hopefully I can answer any questions you may have somewhat intelligently. Check out my Facebook page to see more photos of him! Videos available on request. He is up to date on all shots and coggins.
I am not sure how the temperament scale is rated. Bric is a wonderful riding horse, he’s calm and light in the mouth. However, he does have a lot of energy so I rated him a 7. He doesn’t bite or kick. He’s excellent riding in a group. So if I rated him incorrectly, it’s because I’m rating his energy level and stamina.
I do trail riding only. My horse is very well taken care of. I’m finding that I need a smaller, quieter horse. I’m 62 now and my knees can’t take the pain of riding such a large horse.
