Additional Comments
This eye catcher is Melvin! He is a 6yo quarter horse gelding. He is a gentle boy with great ground manners. He is approx 15.3h. He was started by a professional trainer last summer and continues to grow and learn everyday. Price will increase with training. He is available for sale or On-Farm lease (do not ask for off farm as I will not respond to your message, it is on farm only.)
He goes English and western, broke for ranch riding but would also excel in the hunter ring as he like to be long and low.... (read more) But he has shown great interest in cow work/ working a flag.
He made his first show appearance earlier this season and was a super star, he will continue to show through this coming season in multiple disciplines.
Melvin is great for farrier, dental and vet- his coggins and shots are UTD, teeth will be up too date later this summer.
Melvin is not registered but can be, his sire is Rockin R World and Dam is Tufftobeatchocolate.
W/T/C like butter, smooth and easy. He’s a very comfortable ride. Stops quick and has much more woah then go.
However, because he is young he will require a more confident rider or to continue work with a trainer; though he has taken some advanced beginners and a verity of intermediate riders he will thrive with someone who will aide him in development.
Melvin will conquer new obstacles with a steady rider, he likes to look at and evaluate new things then move forward through as a team with his rider.
He has been out on trails where he has crossed train tracks, water and large down trees, he is willing to learn and try new things!
He is listed only due to a massive life change.
Video was made in the late fall and will be sent to serious buyers. An updated video will be available soon.
If you are interested in the on-farm lease: we have a small backyard set up here at home and work very closely with a trainer down the road. I have miles of trails along with an outdoor arena, we are currently building and expanding our turnouts and will have a barn up shortly after that. The trainer down the road does have an indoor which she welcomes us for lessons or truck in times. Lease terms will be discussed in detail with interested parties.
Please let me know if there are any further questions.
