We call him Bear Bear because he’s as snuggly as a teddy bear. He is safe for a beginner but should have a skilled trainer available to keep him connected on his diagnols. He has a tendency to lean on his one hind leg when standing and if he stays out of light work, he starts again more stiff. Our vet has done exams and there are no fractures, just a pelvic tilt that is remedied with correct work and/or occassional chiropractics.... (read more) The worst thing for this big guy to do is stand in a stall or flat paddock. In our program he does light flat work 3 times a week and in hand training one day a week and it keeps him strengthening the muscles that stabilize his lanky self. He has had special needs students ride him as well as skilled adults. He is great on the crossties, to bathe and trailers well. Other than being a lot to feed, there’s no other reason he is up for sale. He is a great eater and has a thick winter coat… he just eats a lot. Please consider this kind gentle gelding for you or your program. He has so much potential to give confidence and fuzzy hugs.
