Chief is a 14 year old draft cross gelding. He has been ridden on the ranch an mostly used to trail cattle in the mountains. Travels really well in the big country and knows how to move around downfall and steep terrain. Has had a rope swung on him, but not a lot of roping experience. Prior to our ownership, he was with an outfitter and led the pack string. He can be nervous around canvas dams or debris on the ground. Not a bucker, just needs a confident rider.... (read more) In my opinion, his worst trait is getting shoes on him. He needs to be sedated. The outfitter put him on a table and therefore, he is very protective of his feet. You can pick them up, he just is very nervous and builds up anxiety. With sedation, he is good. Size 3 shoe. Has a lot of energy and will work hard all day, not a dead head. He likes to work and move out. Asking 10,500 obo.
