Not many purebred 4 year old gypsy mares that are at a perfect breeding age that are ALSO green broke to ride and ALSO green broke to ground drive for 16k!! She is Lion King, LDR Whiskey, and Pompeii bloodlines.
Here she is!!! My homegrown Purebred gypsy vanner mare registered with GVHS. She's 4 years old and currently in training to be broke to ride and ground drive. Trainer has spent a lot of time and patience with ground work on her to set a solid foundation.... (read more) She's far from finished but doing very well and will continue in training through the end of November. She's already been ridden western as well as English and will continue that and has started ground driving also. When she was only a year old, I had her in "baby training" and that trainer taught her to lie down. That was three years ago and earlier this summer, she was asked to do it again, and within seconds, she was laying on the ground. She had not been asked for that in 3 years.
This is what her current trainer has recently said: "What I really like about this mare is that she always meets me at the gate and is ready to learn something new everyday. She loves attention and is a quick learner. Started ground driving today, she did well!"
She is an alpha mare in the herd, she doesnt realize she's smaller than the rest of her pasture buddies. She is a very sweet mare and just wants her person to love on her, however, she's still learning so I would not recommend her for an inexperienced person unless they continue her in training.
She had her first foal this year and has been an amazing momma. There were zero issues with her pregnancy, was very easy to breed, and she is clear of FIS and PSSM1. She has no health issues and her legs are clean. PPE's are welcome at buyers expense. She is being sold open but I can offer a breeding next Spring to my blue roan gypsy stud for additional monies but it can only be LIVE cover.
This mare is very bred well, is 13.2 hands tall and about as wide as she is tall. She is built stout and for the taller riders, the size of her barrel will take up those with long legs. She is EE (homozygous black) and will always throw a solid colored foal unless the sire has a tobiano gene that he contributes. She would make an adorable cart horse, but if you are looking for a new trail buddy, she can be that too, and I personally think she'd be fantastic for trail riding as she is quite curious about new things. If you want to start or add a mare to your breeding program and have your own babies, she was easy to breed and as stated earlier, has been a great mom to her foal.
She lives in hay pastures that have weeds that burn (tear) her feather off of the front of her hooves but she can and has had nice feather in past years when grasses haven't been as tall, as evidenced in one of the photos.
Her colt she had is under contract and will be weaned this December and she can go to a new home then but can be put under contract now.
Whether a payment plan (with terms) or pay in full, I'm offering her through the rest of November at a special price. If a contract is signed on her in November, regardless whether it's on payments or payment in full at time of contract signing, I will let this nice mare go for 16k. This is an absolute phenomenal price on a young mare who has just started her breeding career if you are looking for a nice broodmare, and is getting broke to ride and drive, not to mention her excellent bloodlines.
She's located in Missouri and I can recommend a shipper that I use that travels year round in all the US.
