2019 Gelding sired by Classic Empire out of a Jump Start mare, last start Oct of 2023. RRP eligible. Volte Face has been with us for several weeks now, let down, adjusted to farm life and been restarted under saddle. The longer he's here the easier he gets, at this point I'd be confident a more experienced amateur working with a trainer could continue to bring him along. Volte is pretty easy to live with on the farm now, leads without a shank, ties, bathes, good for grooming, farrier, etc.... (read more) greets you at the gate and is easy to catch. He's a kind guy to be around and was perfectly content entertaining the farriers kid with hugs and attention while being shod. He's been pastured both alone and with a buddy, currently out with one other gelding and the low man on the totem pole. Big bodied guy that'll work for the leggier rider as he's got a nice, large barrel and is big boned. Volte stands well at the mounting block and is coming along rather nicely now. He's schooling walk trot canter, starting his lead changes and beginning to jump around baby courses. Volte is a big, uphill mover with a balanced canter that makes it super easy to jump out of. His flat work is progressing well and he's really starting to become much lighter up front and adjustable through his gaits. Over fences he's happy to trot in or canter and is throwing together baby courses, he is always game, bold and brave. He's popped over everything in my arena and seems to really like jumping. When he locks onto a fence he is going, however he's really started to pay attention to his rider and is willing to back off or move up as asked. Volte is the type that has a nice engine and work ethic, I believe he's more of an eventing/dressage/jumper type though I could see fox hunters being attracted to him as well. Volte is a talented horse that is going to make someone a great show partner one day! He has no stable vices or known injuries.
