A Golden Gunner aka Glitch is 2021 palomino splash splash white gelding. Full brother to Son Ofa Cool Gun! You read that right, he is AQHA registered and APHA eligible with application in hand. He is owned by a longtime friend of mine who came to me, considering selling Glitch, who she had bred, raised and was going to keep as her own personal riding horse, but she is trying to promote his full brother as a stallion. When Nicole asked me about offering Glitch, I told her I usually only offer horses that I own, but I know Nicole's program very well, I have for many years, and I know how they are raised and handled! Properly! The same way I do with the same kind of care, handling and training. I asked Nicole if she had started Glitch under saddle yet, and she said no, because she wasn't planning on selling him. So, she went out, saddled him and sent me the pictures. LOL! Not a care in the world! So yesterday (10/23) she sends me the pictures of him with a rider! Again, not a care in the world and as quiet and willing as can be. This morning (10/24) she sends me a text that she's on a trail ride, RIDING GLITCH! AND THAT HE'S BEING PERFECT! This is a VERY SPECIAL young gelding with his whole life ahead of him with a fantastic start already! I am sure if you wanted to leave Glitch in training with Nicole, she would work something out, or we have a fantastic colt starter who can go on with him down in Texas. He is currently with Nicole in Blanchardville, Wisconsin.
Glitch has had the best of care his whole life, the best handling, treatment and training and hasn't been pushed hard all year like some of these other young reiners who now won't stay sound for very long. Glitch does have an all white head and neck, so he is deaf, but for those of you who don't have much experience with deaf horses, let me let you in on a little secret, THEY ARE GREAT SHOW HORSES, MOUNTED SHOOTING HORSES, POLICE HORSES, TRAIL HORSES, anything you want! What makes show horses nervous typically? All of the noises, sounds, crowds, but if they can't hear all of that it is always the same to them. I have buyers come to me looking for deaf horses because mounted shooting has gotten so popular! One of my personal derby horses who I recently retired is also a deaf Gunner mare and she is THE BEST! Especially with our mounted patrol work! They can literally land a helicopter next to her and she doesn't mind because 1, she can't hear all of the noise and 2, she has that naturally quiet and easy-going Gunner disposition. Just like Glitch!! You do not need to treat them or train them any different than any other horse. This is a very special guy and a very special opportunity!
