Brie is a stunning 2023 Appendix AQHA filly sired by The Gamechanger who is a son of Reserve Congress Champion.... (read more) On her sire’s side, Brie also has the bloodlines of Indian Artifacts who is an AQHA World Champion, AQHA Superior Earner, and Congress Reserve Champion. Indian Artifacts has sired various World, Reserve, and National Champions in addition to multiple American Warmblood Registry Champions and Reserve Champions. Other notable bloodlines include AQHA Hall of Fame Inductees, Zippos Mr Good Bar and Zippo Pine Bar. Brie’s dam, Double Dutch, is a granddaughter of the famous thoroughbred, A.P Indy, who is a Breeder’s cup and Belmont stakes winner. Double Dutch is also a descendent of Triple Crown winner, Secretariat. Brie is a very determined and confident young filly who has a bright future ahead.
This sweet and willing weanling is a part of our Equine Youngstock Training and Marketing course and has been desensitized to many novel objects and obstacles. She stands quietly for tying, picking up feet, spraying and grooming. She has additionally been taught to carry a small pony saddle (no riders). By sale time we anticipate that Brie will also lunge at the walk, stand for bathing, and load onto a stock type trailer.
The following paperwork will be provided in her sale portfolio: AQHA registration papers, health record with vaccine, deworming and farrier records since birth, current Coggins, and a health certificate if traveling out of state lines.
Virginia Tech Equine
The Virginia Tech Campbell & Smithfield Horse Units are located on either side of route 460 between the Virginia Tech exits. These farms are integrated into a quiet corner of campus and offer many opportunities to Virginia Tech students and employees. Our Campbell Unit houses 20-30 equitation program horses that are used in equitation lessons and for our on-campus hunter and dressage teams. The Smithfield Unit is home to our research and teaching herd.... (read more) This includes our breeding program which raises AQHA and sport horse youngstock. We currently have 6 AQHA & thoroughbred broodmares with all foals, yearlings, and 2 yr olds being used for teaching equine training and marketing.
Our mission is to promote a higher understanding of the study of equine science to the students of Virginia Tech. We also strive to produce quality foals each year to raise, train and sell them to good homes.
