Regretfully offering my mare up for sale. Broodmare prospect or light trail/companion horse.
Art I Sweet N Sassy, AKA Georgia, is a 16.1hh, 2016 mare out of Hands of A Hero and My Arts A Beatin (Arts Self Portrait mare). She’s a solid bay that’s beginning to varnish. She’s quick to learn, brave, and has an overall lovely disposition. Bred in NC but currently located in Blaine, TN.
The good:
-Stays fat in a pasture with grain twice a day, but could handle some cutback in the summer (she’s chunky)
-Not spooky on the trails and walks right through water
-Loves to be groomed and doted on
-Gentle disposition: serves as a “therapy horse” for a young gelding in the herd and has been caught letting the other horses lick grain off of her face.... (read more) She’s also toted around beginners for lead/lunge “lessons” and doesn’t bat an eye
-Will fist bump for a peppermint
-Would be happy to let kids sit on her in the pasture and dress her up
-Has been shown low level eventing and dressage. She’s ALWAYS placed. Never been below top 2. Amazing off property, but will get nervous in new indoors.
-I was told that her previous owner had her pulling a cart, but I’ve not had the means to try it myself.
-Been ridden on a road with passing cars and didn’t bat an eye
-She’s also registered with USEF, USDF, and USEA
The bad:
-She’s no longer sound for a show career. She was nerved for navicular last year and has begun showing symptoms once more. Vet recommended retirement, light trails, or a broodmare career.
-She had colic surgery in 2021 but has made a full recovery and the entirety of her show career has been post-op.
-She’s not always happy to see the farrier, so lately we’ve had to sedate her (we’ve been unable to work on this issue because of different circumstances). Living the barefoot life might suit this diva if she’s no longer in work.
-She’s never had a baby, but I have no doubts that she’d be a great momma.
I love this mare more than anything and would like to keep her in or around Knoxville, TN. I’m 16 and cannot board a horse I’m not showing. PM for more information or questions.
