Noodle
17 yr old grade pony gelding
If you are in the market for a safe starter pony, or needing a pony to help rebuild a child confidence after a bad situation, Noodle is that pony! I don’t know if I have ever worked with such a sweet and good natured pony, that is also as equally broke and trained. He has been ridden western and English and has done many jobs throughout the years. He has done everything from Junior Rodeos, to actual ranch and stock yard work, to 4-H and jumping small cross rails.... (read more) He is very handy broke, works very well off leg pressure, takes his leads, nice turns, backs up, and has a collected trot and canter. He rides out in the pasture and out on the trails as quiet as he does in the arena. He has no buddy sour or barn sour issues to deal with.
Noodle is very gentle and easy to handle on the ground. He stands quiet for all grooming, farrier, vet, and tack up. He can be handled by small children and is very patient with them. Noodle does lightly crib but it’s controlled by a collar if you choose to keep one on him. He stalls well, but we currently have him turned out with a mixed group of horses, and he is super easy to catch. We do recommend keeping him on a dry lot in the spring if you have lush pastures. At our facility we have not had to regulate his pasture time. He seems to have sensitive feet, especially barefoot on gravel so we do keep shoes on him in the front.
