“Big Boy” is an easy-going gelding that’s easy to train and loves to please. He is brave to jumps and loves his new slower-paced life. I knew he would be special when his trainer and owner on the track told me a list of his favorite treats and then personally delivered him to me. He is a lover of children, getting spoiled, test-tasting all the treats, and appreciates a great grooming session. He is easy to handle on the ground and has adjusted to the farm life quickly.... (read more) Big Boy is a mild cribber, but it is controlled with a collar. He is currently turned out in a herd of 7 with ZERO issues. We took his race plates off and put 4 shoes on, and he has great feet that have no issues with holding shoes on.

Under saddle, Big Boy is nothing short of fabulous. He stands at the mounting block perfectly. He is calm, happy to be working at a slower pace, and loves to hack around the field on a buckle. He naturally wants to do the right thing and looks to you for guidance. He is starting to look for my hand and is excellent at listening to verbal commands for transitions. He recently went to a clinic with me where he jumped his first course and went over XC jumps. He handled the water jumps, ditches, banks, and everything with bravery. Nothing will stop this fabulous gelding. I would love to see him go forward as an eventer or hunter. There is truly something so special about him. He could be finished by an ammy with a trainer.
