Can help arrange hauling but cannot haul myself with work. Hobbs is the true all around ranch horse. He’s been there done that no vice type of horse.
He packs iron on all 4 and was a statue for the farrier He walk trot lopes pretty circles in the arena and outside, collects up nicely in the bridle when asked but needs a tune up to really get him going perfectly consistently.... (read more) He stands quiet to saddle and unsaddle, stands to get on and off, tie him to a tree and he’ll wait for you to return, I have not tested hobbles.
Hobbs self loads in the trailer, he isn’t mean in a herd but will stand up for himself. He’s an easy keeper, comes to a whistle and/or grain bucket. He’s drug calves to fire, doctored in the pasture, and roped a bull and drug in the trailer. I do not know and cannot vouch for if he has roped and been stepped off of. Saying what I do know. He may be smaller in height but he is stout and will try his heart out for you all day. Let him sit 6 months or 2 days and he rides off the same we have not had any issues with him.
